Personalized Treatment for Back, Neck, Joint, and Muscle Pain
Pain can make everyday activities feel difficult, whether it’s getting out of bed, walking, climbing stairs, or simply moving comfortably throughout the day. At Physical Therapy Direct, we provide in-home orthopedic physical therapy focused on reducing pain, improving mobility, and restoring your ability to move with confidence.
Our approach is hands-on, personalized, and designed around your specific condition and goals. Because we treat you in your home, we can directly address the movements and activities that are causing your pain in real life.
Conditions We Commonly Treat
We work with patients experiencing a wide range of musculoskeletal and orthopedic conditions. This includes back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, hip pain, knee pain, and generalized joint pain. Many patients also come to us with arthritis affecting one or multiple joints, as well as tendonitis, bursitis, and muscle strains.
We also frequently treat sciatica, degenerative joint conditions, and pain related to overuse or poor movement mechanics. If your condition is not listed, we encourage you to reach out so we can help determine whether physical therapy is appropriate for you.
How We Help Relieve Pain
Pain relief begins with understanding what is actually causing your symptoms. During your evaluation, we assess how you move, how your joints and muscles are functioning, and what activities are contributing to your pain.
Treatment is focused on improving movement quality, reducing stress on painful areas, and restoring normal function. This may include targeted therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, stretching and mobility work, and education on how to move safely throughout your day. We also focus on correcting movement patterns that may be contributing to ongoing irritation or discomfort.
As you progress, your treatment plan is adjusted to help you build strength, improve endurance, and reduce the likelihood of your pain returning.
Getting Started Is Simple
We will help answer your questions, schedule your evaluation, and connect you with a licensed therapist who can provide care in your home.
Can physical therapy help with arthritis and chronic pain?
Yes. Physical therapy is one of the most effective non-surgical treatments for arthritis and chronic pain. Treatment focuses on improving joint mobility, strengthening surrounding muscles, and reducing stress on painful areas to help you move more comfortably in daily life.
Do you treat pain even if I didn’t have an injury or surgery?
Yes. Many patients we treat have pain that develops gradually over time rather than from a specific injury. This can include arthritis, postural issues, overuse, or age-related changes. Physical therapy is designed to address both sudden and long-term pain conditions.
Do I need a referral to start physical therapy?
In many cases, you do not need a referral to begin physical therapy. Missouri allows direct access, which means you can be evaluated and start treatment without first seeing a physician. If your insurance plan requires a referral, we can help you determine that before getting started.
What should I expect during my first visit?
Your first visit includes a detailed evaluation of your pain, movement, strength, and functional limitations. We also discuss your goals and daily challenges. From there, we create a personalized treatment plan focused on reducing pain and improving your ability to move safely and comfortably.
